Inspiring Women's day takes place in The Point

Last Thursday, Inspirational women from around Lancashire came to The Point at Emirates Old Trafford to work with girls from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation's Girls Without Boundaries Academy programme.

The event, which was funded by the Trafford Youth Trust, gave girls the opportunity to meet and speak with women who hold important jobs across various businesses around the county.

Girls Without Boundaries is a project designed to inspire disengaged young women and build confidence through a combination of mixed martial arts, self-defence using music and dance.

Several women from within Lancashire Cricket Club also took time out of their day to take part in the event, as well women from: Trafford Council, Mercedes Benz, BBC Sport, UA92 and Greater Sport.

The day started with an introduction to all of the inspirational women and their roles, before sessions started with groups of 10 around a table, with two inspirational women - the girls rotated around each table during 15 minute slots.

There was also a chance for the young women from the Girls Without Boundaries programme to perform their dance routines to the room.

For further information about the Girls Without Boundaries programme, please contact Natasha Sweeney-Meadowcroft, Lancashire Cricket Foundation Activity Leader, at nsweeney-meadowcroft@lancashirecricket.co.uk
