Thousands Raised for Lancashire Cricket Foundation with Sir Parkinson

Lancashire Cricket raised over £3,000 for its Foundation, thanks to a special evening with TV national treasure, Sir Michael Parkinson.

The event, held at Emirates Old Trafford earlier this month, celebrated the life and career of Sir Parkinson, who spent over 50 years interviewing some of the most influential figures in recent history.

In conversation with his son, Mike, guests enjoyed the unique chance to get up close and personal with one of Britain’s greatest ever chat show hosts, and discover more about his journey from a pit village in Yorkshire, to the top of those famous stairs.

Guests were also treated to a delicious three course meal in the premium, traditional surroundings of Emirates Old Trafford’s 1864 Suite.

All proceeds went towards the Club’s official charity, which aims to engage, excite, inspire and improve lives through cricket.

Head of Community Growth at Lancashire Cricket, Sandy Mitchell, said: “Wow – what an evening! Sir Michael Parkinson is treasured by people right across the county so, to witness him in conversation with guests at Emirates Old Trafford, was very special.

“We’d like to thank everyone who joined us on the night and, in turn, helped to support the Lancashire Cricket Foundation.

“The charity works 365 days a year, supporting a diverse range of people from across Manchester and, without events like these, we wouldn’t be able to continue delivering such impactful work.”
