Women's Cricket Conference to take place at Emirates Old Trafford

Lancashire Cricket Club are extending an invitation to this year’s Women’s Cricket Conference, which takes place this Saturday (April 28) at Emirates Old Trafford, to anybody who is currently involved in women’s cricket or wishes to become involved.

There will be something for all abilities and experience, females and males who play, volunteer, coach or umpire to those with no previous experience in cricket, are welcome to come and get involved.

The conference takes place at the same time as the Lancashire vs Surrey Specsavers County Championship match and tickets, which cost just £10, will include free entry into the game.

A series of workshops will run throughout the day, designed to give an overview of what is currently happening in the Women’s game, as well as taster sessions including fielding drills, introductions to umpiring and scoring and coaching for beginners.

Special guests including Lancashire Thunder and England’s Alex Hartley, Kate Cross and Sophie Ecclestone will be on hand all day to get involved in the sessions and there will also be a chance for guests to take part in a Q&A with the stars of English women’s cricket.

The conference will be delivered by leading females in their fields, who will be capably supported by the Lancashire Cricket Foundation staff.

The content features a mixture of classroom and practical sessions designed for maximum involvement, while allowing guests to tailor their day to best suit their own needs.
