All Stars Cricket lands at St Annes CC

Over 80 children aged five to eight were in attendance at St Annes Cricket Club on Friday, as All Stars Cricket kicked off for 2018.

The session is the first of several to take place at the Club this summer, with over 100 centres across the county committed to giving children an unforgettable first experience of cricket.

All Stars Cricket is the first step in the national pathway for cricket. With fun at its heart, the programme aims to inspire children to take up cricket, provide a great first experience of the game and engage with a new audience of potential volunteers.

There was a sea of blue across the Club, as the session began at 6.00pm with all children receiving a free All Stars Cricket t shirt, along with a bat, ball, cap and a rucksack.

All Stars official mascot, Twinkle was in attendance to get the session going, as the children were introduced to the game in its simplest form, with stations teaching the basics of batting, bowling and fielding in a fun and inclusive environment.

The programme got underway across the county on Friday's national launch day and the Lancashire Cricket Foundation will be visiting centres throughout the summer to support and capture some of the #BigMoments that will be taking place.
