Ribblesdale on a high as Lancashire School U15 T20 Champions

Ribblesdale U15 T20 Champions in Lancashire

On 2 May, 57 Secondary Schools set off in pursuit of the Lancashire Schools Cricket Association U15 T20 title, to represent the County in the English Schools Cricket Association (ESCA) Regional finals against champion schools from Cheshire, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Durham and possibly on to the national finals at Arundel.

On 25 June at Longridge Cricket Club in the LSCA finals day, Ribblesdale High School became Lancashire champions after defeating Bolton School in the final by one run. The other semi-finalists were Manchester Grammar School and Hutton Grammar School.

Congratulations to Ribblesdale High School who are the first recipients of a new trophy named after Nigel Warne, a great man, recently passed away, who worked tirelessly throughout the county for youngsters playing cricket and for Secondary Schools in particular.

The ESCA U15 Competition is one of the eleven age group Secondary Schools tournaments from age 11 to 17, currently organised and managed by the LSCA, featuring over 500 teams from 79 participating Secondary Schools throughout the County.
