Vacancy - Disability Cricket Pathway Coach

Commitment: 2019 Season Initially
Responsible to: Disability and Inclusion Cricket Development Manager
Date Effective: Immediate
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience

Main purpose of the role

To coach the Lancashire Super 9s Squad who compete in the ECB National Competition. This will include combined squad coaching sessions with the D40 Squad (weekends), and attendance at all matches during 2019 (Sundays). The role will also include assisting on the Super 1s programme (evenings and afternoons)

Main Duties             

  • Lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of coaching sessions
  • Provide support to existing D40 coaches
  • Provide individual and group support to players in order to assist their development
  • Assist the Super 1s Disability Cricket Development Officer in team selection and administration
  • Provide coaching assistance at Super 1s Hubs (evenings) as part of Talent Identification
  • Provide coaching support for all impairment groups based on need and availability
  • With support from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Disability and Inclusion Cricket Development Manager administer the squad in terms of fixtures, umpire appointments and result submission alongside other agreed duties

Person Specification

  • ECB Level 2 Cricket Coaching Qualification (E)
  • Attended Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding Young Cricketers workshops in the last 3 years (E)
  • Current DBS certificate (E)
  • Experience of working with cricketers with a Physical and/or Learning Disability (D)
  • Experience of working with cricketers on a representative programme (D)
  • An ability to identify talent and create a talent pool capable of playing county cricket (D)
  • Experience of coaching and delivering cricket programmes including player development programmes for cricketers in a range of settings (D)
  • Experience of providing key tactical information throughout competitive fixtures (D)
