Lancashire Cricket statement re Age Group cricket

The Club has issued the following statement re tightened COVID-19 restrictions in Oldham, Blackburn and Pendle

Lancashire Cricket can issue the following update regarding Age Group cricket over the coming weeks.

Due to heightened COVID-19 local lockdown restrictions in Oldham, Blackburn and Pendle as of midnight tonight (Saturday 22 August), Age Group participants from these areas will not be permitted to participate in practice or matches until further notice.

These restrictions are in place after consultation between the relevant medical personnel and apply to all players, coaches, umpires, scorers and anyone else involved in an official capacity with Lancashire’s Age Group system.

This decision has been taken to protect and safeguard our young players and all involved with Age Group cricket. This applies until restrictions are relaxed by either Government or Local Authorities, or until further notice from Lancashire Cricket.

Lancashire’s Age Group programme will continue as planned, with a comprehensive fixture list for representative teams over the coming weeks for those who live outside of the additionally restricted areas.

If teams are depleted so far that numbers cannot be made up from eligible players outside of the restricted areas, fixtures will be postponed.
