Lancashire Cricket Foundation offers Harry Styles concert tickets to lucky participants
The Lancashire Cricket Foundation gave free tickets to Harry Styles: Love On Tour shows at Emirates Old Trafford to several local project participants.
Both shows on 15 and 16 June, at the home of Lancashire Cricket, were 50,000 sell outs and a number of young people who currently engage with the Foundation on a regular basis rewarded with tickets.
Among the lucky groups who received tickets, was the Trafford Poverty Truth Commission Team (PTC). The PTC’s aim is to bring different groups of people together and impact positively on the lives of those living in poverty in the borough of Trafford.
A number of participants from the Wicketz programme - which provides free, year-round, weekly community cricket sessions and personal development workshops for young people – also benefited from the Foundation’s giveaway.
Tickets were also given out to members of the Super 1’s group, which is a Lord’s Taverners programme designed to give cricketing opportunities, both coaching and competitive, to young disabled people. The programme also aims to increase levels of confidence, communication and independence for disabled young people.
Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Growth for the Lancashire Cricket Foundation praised the initiative and said: ‘We were delighted to be able to invite a number of our project participants to enjoy the Harry Styles concert here at Emirates Old Trafford.
“Many of these young people engage in our programmes on a regular basis and to be able to offer them a special experience for all their effort, commitment and dedication is the least we can do. I hope they all had a fantastic time.”
