After a Shakey start losing Waqass to food poisoning, we headed over the border to Barnsley and Higham CC, as well as missing key players Adam Finneran through Injury and Rory McIntyre Holiday.
Winning the toss, vice captain Sir Jimmy Dixon opted to bat.
The opening pair of Dixon (9) and Collinge out on 40 for the first wicket, Dixon was caught behind, bringing Tom Meskell to the crease.
Meskell and Collinge added 92 for the 2nd wicket, Kristian being trapped by Jervis for 65 off 55 balls. With support from Matty Tamburro (23) and Tyler Preece (6*), Tom went on to 142* from 106 balls, not a bad return to say he was being sick during the journey to the game and the warm up.
Lancashire closed on 283/6.
Dixon and left arm spinner Jack Fisher opened the bowling and it was the latter that picked up the first 2 wickets of O’Conner and Morris, leaving Yorkshire behind the rate at 39/2 off 12 overs.
Lancashire picked up wickets at regular intervals throughout the reply with Left Armer Tamburro picking up 3 wickets for 29, Thomas Wilson 2 wickets for 23 and Fisher 2 wickets for 29.
Strong resistance from Cameron Cooper (37) and Lewis Daniels (25*) out on 62 for the last wicket.
A good day in the end but the boys know we need to work hard to close out games and not expect the wickets to just come.
