Join us for the ECB’s African Caribbean Cricket Festival on Sunday 13th August at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club

Last year, the ECB held a series of meetings, led by ex-England bowler Devon Malcolm and our EDI department, with Black & African Caribbean Communities across the country.

We had over 100 attendees including ex-professional players, umpires and people from across recreational cricket who spoke of the need to connect and re-ignite their love for the game, strengthen the links with ECB and counties, and inspire the younger generation to connect to their roots and to understand the importance of cricket within that.

Following these meetings, the ECB made plans to organise a cricket festival this summer. The festival is being delivered in partnership with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, The ACE Programme Charity and the Professional Cricketers’ Association.

We would be delighted if you were able to join us for what promises to be a fantastic day.

Extreme Heat Guidance

Hot weather is becoming more common in England and Wales. When temperatures and humidity levels go beyond normal local summer thresholds, we refer to it as an Extreme Heat Event.

Due to cricket often being played during the hottest months of the year, it is important for organisers to be aware of how the extreme heat may affect all involved. This guidance is intended to help organisers of cricket to plan ahead and prepare to play in these conditions.
