Having played for Lancashire for 17 seasons including as captain for two, my role as National Coach for the National Cricket Association involved Coach Education at local, regional and national levels, identifying and coaching regional and national age group cricketers and introducing cricket to schools.
That evolved into developing new courses for coaches and coaching at England Under 19s and National Academy levels. After 24 years with the ECB and working with national squads, it was back to coaching in schools and at club junior teams in the last 7 years
Alongside that, mentoring and assisting coaches while they get qualified has provided opportunities to continue to contribute in that area.
