Free Club Development Expo at Myerscough College

The Lancashire Cricket Foundation is hosting a free Club Development Expo at Myerscough College (St Michaels Road, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 0RY) on Monday 15 April, 6pm - 9.30pm.

This event is aimed at the ‘whole game’ and it is hoped that clubs will bring multiple people along, from coaches to administrators, groundsman and other people involved with day-to-day club life.  

You must book as an individual, however places are limited and we also hope that clubs will consider this when booking.

Workshops

6pm - Expo Opens located in the Sport Centre at the College with ample onsite parking.

6.30pm - Key note address from Warren Hegg (Lancashire Cricket) with a chance for Q&As - Sports Hall.

Coaching Workshop:
7pm - 9.15pm
Sports Hall
This workshop will give qualified coaches an insight into some of the practices done at the professional level along with how these may be adapted at club level. The workshop will see Mark Chilton (Performance Director) working with some of our young professionals /academy players, Chris Chambers (Lancashire Thunder Fielding Coach) working with some of the Kia Super League Women and our own Cricket Development Coaches working in the club environment with young players.

Club Development Workshops:
7pm - 8pm

Option 1 (Marketing your club and engaging more people - Chris Gunn (UCLAN) plus Lancashire Marketing Staff)
Option 2 (The benefits and role of Women and Girls in Cricket Clubs - Jen Barden Lancashire Cricket)

Option 1 (Groundsmanship best practice / interactive demonstrations / course need - Myerscough College)
Option 2 (A guide to Grant Aid Funding and the current landscape - Fiona Prescott ECB)

Information & Drop in Stalls:
6pm - 9pm
Sport Centre

Additionally, up to 20 information stalls will be positioned within the Sport Centre including Lancashire Cricket Staff, partners from ECB, Chance to Shine, Coach Education, Groundsman Association, County Sport Partnerships, Local Authorities, other leading projects such as Opening Up Cricket and many more. This area will also include the 4 Club and Community Cricket Managers who will be on hand to broker conversations with clubs.
