Community activities update from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation
Our Community Team has been hard at work to deliver key programmes in Manchester despite the challenges faced this summer
The Lancashire Cricket Foundation Community Team has been working hard with its partners to provide three key programmes in Manchester this summer - National Citizen Service’s (NCS) Keep Doing Good, Summer of Sport in Trafford and Bags & Bubbles.
This follows the difficult decision taken in March, to suspend all community activities due to the government’s COVID-19 restrictions.
Since then, the Foundation has been working hard, alongside our partners, to restart and adapt its programmes in the safest manner possible, while adhering to all of the latest guidance.
We will continue to monitor and assess the current advice with a view to safely resuming all of our community programmes in the near future. Thank you for your support and understanding.
NCS – Keep Doing Good
Young People across the North West can now register to take part in social action this August, and pledge 16 hours of activity as part of the NCS’s One Million Hours of Doing Good campaign.
Teens who volunteer with the Lancashire Cricket Foundation this summer will gain important skills and a reference to support their future employment, as well helping rebuild their local communities and create positive and lasting change this summer. Since opening registrations nearly 20,000 young people across the North West have pledged an interest in taking part.
There are a wide variety of opportunities for young people to Keep Doing Good, including reviving local green spaces, supporting food banks, and finding new ways to connect their communities.
Teens can now sign up to help communities in the North West get back on their feet by visiting wearencs.com. If you are a community organisation in Salford or Trafford and need a helping hand this summer, contact Charlotte Williamson at cwilliamson@lancashirecricket.co.uk to get involved.
