Lancashire Knockout Cup 2021: Second Round Preview

Lancashire Knockout Cup 2021: Second Round Preview

The last 16 of the Lancashire KO Cup takes places this Sunday, 13th June with all 8 ties starting at 1pm.

Round 1 was affected by poor weather with a large number of results being achieved via Duckworth Lewis, bowl outs and unfortunately one coin toss however with temperatures of 25 degrees + forecast for Sunday we look to be in store for a fascinating day of high quality club cricket.

Defending champions Norden CC host the current Greater Manchester Cricket League champions Denton St Lawrence CC in what looks like one of the ties of the round, interestingly there are now no ties involving clubs from the same league which should generate lots of interest and discussion.

Other ties involving clubs with recent good records in the competition involve 2017 shared winners Ormskirk CC who travel to Read CC from the Ribblesdale Cricket League, 2016 runners up Farnworth CC visiting Burnley CC and 2018 winners Darwen CC taking on Settle CC. Arguably the most successful club in the competitions history is Bootle CC who take on Flixton CC, Bootle last won the Lancashire KO Cup in 2015 and have reached nine finals winning seven.
