#WomensCricketMonth: Cherry Tree CC
Throughout September, we're celebrating #WomensCricketMonth by profiling a series of clubs across Lancashire who are currently hosting women's and girls' cricket activity... next up, it's Cherry Tree Cricket Club
Cherry Ladies based at Cherry Tree Cricket Club
Current women's and girls' offering at your club: An Under 11 girls team and two women's Softball Teams
Established women's and girls' set-up since: Cherry Ladies started winter training at the club's indoor nets in Autumn 2019 and this proved to be extremely popular amongst players with fantastic turn outs at the sessions.
They have since played their first matches this month, against Darwen CC and Rishton CC, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all involved
Key people involved with women's and girls' cricket: The Club say that the key is with every single lady who takes time out on a Friday evening to come along and train, build new friendships and support their mental health and well-being. They also thank coach Andi Willacy as without his perseverance and patience Cherry Ladies playing cricket would not be possible
Goals for the future: Their goal for next season to play a lot more Softball Cricket, and then in five years time, to become women's cricket league champions
