#WomensCricketMonth: Clitheroe Ladies

Throughout September, we're celebrating #WomensCricketMonth by profiling a series of clubs across Lancashire who are currently hosting women's and girls' cricket activity... today, we take a look at Clitheroe Cricket Club and their set-up

Clitheroe Ladies at Clitheroe Cricket Club

Current women's and girls' offering at your club: Clitheroe Ladies and Clitheroe Girls (U11 and U13 combined)

Established women's and girls' set-up since: Clitheroe Ladies recently began during Summer 2020, while the girls have have had a successful mini-season and play in the Lancashire League predominantly against boys teams.

Key people involved with women's and girls' cricket: The side meet on a Thursday evening (6pm-8pm) for training with their Coach, Mark Aspin. They are set to make a debut appearance on Saturday 19 September when Clitheoe Ladies will join the club's other senior teams for a charity match in aid of the North West Air Ambulance and the Ruth Strauss Foundation.

Goals for next season: Clitheoe Ladies will begin training after Christmas, ahead of joining a league in time for next season. For the first time, the club will also be running a development and winter program for the girls after Christmas.
