Street Coaches Inspire
Chance to Shine Street Clubs from Lancashire represented the county at National level recently. Teams from Burnage, Blackburn, Bolton and Preston all travelled to Nottingham to compete in the Chance to Shine National Finals.
Whilst there were finalists and group stage winners from Lancashire – there were no overall winners, three trophies did make the journey back North. Street Coaches from Burnage and Bolton lifted awards for their coaching efforts both at the weekly sessions and on the big day.
Shahzeen Kala & Sanaa Makkah (Bolton Girls Street Club) won the Inspiring Coaches Award – they were praised for their positive, engaging and supporting level of coaching throughout the day. The award follows great development of the girls only club in Bolton. Sanaa has also continued her coaching journey with the MCC Foundation programme.
Kasim Mirza (Burnage Street Club) also won an Inspiring Coaches award – this time at the Young People Finals. Kasim was interacting with coaches and players from across the country - as well as his group of players. He works on several community programmes with Lancashire Cricket Foundation and his love for cricket and coaching shone through again in Nottingham.
