Final Four in Lancashire Knockout Cup
After a thrilling weekend in the Lancashire Knockout Cup, there are now only four teams left, which include Leigh CC, Longridge CC, Northern CC and the reigning champions Ormskirk CC.
Leigh CC beat Read CC by 183 runs to kick off the Lancashire Knockout Cup quarter-finals. Leigh won the toss and elected to bat and reached 331/2 before bowling the visitors out for 148 after 39.4 overs.
Longridge CC also won the toss in their quarter-final encounter against Roe Green and won by six wickets having scored 167 in response to Roe Green’s 164 all out.
Defending Champions, Ormskirk CC also secured their spot in the last four after an impressive run-chase against Prestwich saw the home side win by 7 wickets. Prestwich CC had scored 201 runs but the home side managed to run it down after only 37.4 overs.
The final side to complete the semi-final line up were Northern CC who comprehensively beat Westhoughton CC at St George’s Oval, winning by 52 runs.
Leigh CC will once again play at home and will face Longridge CC in the semi-final, meanwhile Ormskirk CC who are looking to defend their title will face Northern CC.
The semi-final matches will be played on the 17th of July, with Emirates Old Trafford once again set to host the final, scheduled for September.
