The D40 squad returned to the Indoor Centre at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday as preparations began for the new season. Keen to build on last year’s fantastic performances, the players wasted no time getting back to work.

The session started with a focus on fitness and agility, with players moving quickly between cones before returning to take close catches from their partners.

This high-energy warm-up set the tone for the afternoon, highlighting the group’s determination to progress even further this season.

The squad then moved into match-based scenarios. As runners are often required in the D40 game, the coaches introduced exercises to help players grow more confident running from the non-striker’s end while the striking batter remains at the crease.

This also gave the coaches a valuable opportunity to identify potential runners for match situations, ensuring the team is fully prepared for any scenario they may encounter.

If you feel you may qualify for Disability Cricket, or know someone who might be eligible, we’d love to hear from you.
