Women and Girls cricket within Lancashire has grown exponentially over the last few years, now being the home of 106 women’s and/or girls cricket clubs, with 122 Women’s teams from 76 different clubs, and 102 Girl’s teams from 58 different clubs.
Lancashire Cricket Foundation offers a vast range of age groups and formats, with the junior format staring with Dynamos cricket and ranging all the way to U19s, and the women’s format offering softball cricket, as well as hardball cricket ranging from super 8s to 40 overs. In 2025 we launched the women’s premier competition in the North West, the Thunder Cup, a 50-over white ball competition offering an exciting opportunity and experience for the players in Lancashire.
The 2025 success of the Lancashire Thunder, as well as the excitement around the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup and the upcoming 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, 2026 looks to increase these numbers further, growing the game further every season!
