John brings a wealth of cricketing experience to the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Board, having contributed to the game at multiple levels and in a variety of roles.

Originally from South Africa, he moved to England in the early 1960s and has lived in the area for over 60 years. He began his playing career at Milnrow Cricket Club, progressing to Lancashire Under-19s before joining Lancashire County Cricket Club as a professional in 1972. He spent 17 seasons with the county, including two and a half as first-team captain, developing strong leadership and team-building skills.

John later played for Shropshire and Heywood Cricket Club, maintaining close links with the recreational game.

Alongside his playing career, he worked for the ECB in coach education and player development, progressing to roles including Head of the England Development Programme and involvement with England Under-19s and the National Academy. His experience includes working with players, coaches, volunteers and governing bodies, both nationally and internationally.
